SAN cert on my exchange 2010 server

I have a SAN cert on my exchange 2010 server. We added a new Subject Alternative Name to the cert via GoDaddy and got a new crt file. After receiving the crt file I imported via the EMC but the new cert does not show up. If I try to import it again it tells me it is already there. Did I miss something can you not just import the cert? Do you have to generate a new request then complete the request with the new crt file with the subject alternative name in it?
