Hi,
I have a strange problem that I hope someone can help me with.
We migrated from Exchange 2007 to 2010 a few months ago and everything went pretty smoothly. One of our users has recently reported that he cannot connect via Outlook Anywhere but when connected via LAN or VPN all is fine. Not sure if this ever worked for him after the migration or if it just broke.
When creating a new Outlook profile and trying to log in I get the error:
"Cannot open your default e-mail folders. You must connect to Microsoft Exchange with the current profile before you can synchronize your folders with your Outlook data file (.ost)"
This error can be reproduced on any computer so it's not just a dodgy machine or corrupt profile
Troubleshooting done so far:
- OWA works fine
- Does not matter which computer I try, always same error
- Remote Connectivity Analyzer test run. All looks fine
- Autodiscover works fine
- Same problem whether using Cached mode or not
- I did notice the mailbox did not have the user account in list of Full Access Permission so added it
- Ran the Get-CASMailbox -Identity "User Name" |fl command and compared with a working user
- Using ADSIEDIT I found that an attribute called protocolSettings was set to POP3§0§§§§§§§§§ only so I modified it to say (copied from a working user):

HTTP§1§1§§§§§§
OWA§1
POP3§0§§§§§§§§§
Any suggestions on what to try next would be much appreciated
Thanks
