We have been chasing this problem for 3 weeks now and have not found the smoking gun. The situation is that RPC Average Latency will spike to 100+ and the users will see the spinning wheel or "Not Connected". The problem is that I never see the RPC Requests go about 5 on the scale but RPC Average Latency will spike to over 100. I have been running Wireshark for packets, Task Manager for services running, studied the perfromance tab for the VM and do not see a problem with the Disk access, Processor or Memory.
To say I am lost at this time is an understatement.
UPDATE:
After tracking this problem for a couple of weeks I have come across what I believe is the root cause of the problem.
Both of the DC in the local location issue a very high rate of LDAP Reads and Searches at the same time targeted at the Exchange 2010 server, they spike then the Latency spikes. Now all I have to do is find out why the DC do this every half hour at a rate much higher then every other minute they are communicating with the Exchange server.
