I'm trying to add a new email address policy for a new domain in my Exchange environment. When I try to add the new policy, I get the error 'You can't specify the recipient container because legacy servers are detected'
Now I've found many threads about this topic, and I know the fix is done inside ADSI to remove the existing legacy servers, but my question is what if I still need to leave that server online? That server unfortunately still plays another role to my environment, and it will take some time to migrate that off. This is a huge mistake on the person who originally combined services.
Is their no other way to bypass this error? Is the legacy server defined as such because of the Exchange services installed?
If I remove the 2003 server from ADSI, won't this cause problems down the line when I need to do a restore?
Cheers,
