Hi guys,
I have a few thoughts about installing a new E2010 CAS into a current E2007 org I would like to verify.
I did these things years ago but I have forgot the steps and want to verify them.
- What will happen to current Outlook 2007/2010 users? will they still access the old CAS using autodiscover SCP lookup or will they recognize that there are a newer CAS in the org and use that instead?
- We want to have time to install the new server and from that box generate a new certificate request with both mail.company.com, autodiscover.company.com and legacy.company.com.
- And if installing these certificate on both the new CAS servers and the old ones what else do we have to configure to get the whole redirect thing to work?
a) Do we have to use the cmdlet: Set-OwaVirtualDirectory CAS01/owa* –Exchange2003Url https://legacy.company.com.com/owa or is that just for exchange 2003? with the /exchange vDir?
b) Do we have to use internal autodiscover DNS record or are things done only with SCP nowdays? (even external?)
c) Do we have to change anything on the authentication vDirs?
d) Last thought is that we should disable outlook anywhere on E2007 and enable that on E2010? Since we cannot have them on both? (out of curiosity, is this a technical issue or just for security?)
Thx for helping me out!
Have read a few articles about this: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd351133 for starters...
