Exchange 2010 new-addresslist with Exchange 2003 servers

Hi,

We are currently in the process of migrating from Exchange 2003 to Exchagne 2010. I've installed two CAS/HUB servers and two Mailbox Servers and I'm able to send mail between 2003/2010 and send/receive externally. However my test mailbox account on 2010 does not have access to any address lists. So far as I can see this could be related to the use of "msExchQueryBaseDN" that we seem to have used for address list generation on 2003, so I disabled this (only on some test users) and then proceeded to try to create a address list on Exchange 2010 (via the Exchange Managment Console). This did not work (tried both via the Console and Shell). The command and error message I receive from the shell are the following:

C:\>New-AddressList -Name "AdrList_TEST" -RecipientFilter {(RecipientType -eq 'UserMailbox') -and (CustomAttribute1 -eq "TEST")} -Displayname "TEST"

The parent object for AdrList_TEST could not be found. Please check that \ exists.

 + CategoryInfo          : NotSpecified: (:) [New-AddressList], TaskException

  + FullyQualifiedErrorId : D50883BC,Microsoft.Exchange.Management.SystemConfigurationTasks.NewAddressList

I also tried creating a new Global Address List, but I get the same error message:

[PS] C:\>New-GlobalAddressList -Name GAL_TEST -RecipientFilter {((RecipientType -eq "UserMailbox") -and (CustomAttribute4 -eq"TEST"))}

The parent object for GAL_TEST could not be found. Please check that \ exists.

+ CategoryInfo          : NotSpecified: (:) [New-GlobalAddressList], TaskException

+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : 5FD4E9F4,Microsoft.Exchange.Management.SystemConfigurationTasks.NewGlobalAddressList

So for the time being I'm feeling a bit stuck...I can't move my old 2003 mailboxes to the new servers as they will most likely get empty address list/Contacts. And any new 2010 mailboxes I create come up with empty Address Lists.

I've read several documents that specify that it should be possible to create Customer specific GALs and Address Lists on the new 2010 servers that reflect the old ACLs from 2003 and then move over 2003 mailboxes to 2010. Am I missing something here? I have been unable to find any information on the specific errrors above.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
