Disaable Client side renegotiation with published URL

$
0
0

Hi

We are doing a securty scan of our URL mail.mycompany.com using SSL labs link (https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/index.html) and found below vulnerabilities

Secure Client-Initiated
Renegotiation
Supported   DoS DANGER (more
info
)
Insecure Client-Initiated
Renegotiation
Supported   INSECURE (more
info
)

Found many other OWA sites with client side renegotiation disabled. We installed the hotfix from MS (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/977377) on both CAS servers, but still it's showing the vulnerability. Expect someone to help us to correct this security issue. We are using BlueCoat as reverse proxy to publish our secured sites

Thanks in advance

As I click through the list of servers in the root of the “Server Configuration” node I get the below error on all servers except the one I am connected to.  Is this to be expected?

The Exchange Certificate Operation has failed with an exception.  The error message is: Access is denied It was running the command ‘Get-ExchangeCertificate –server ‘cas01’

Internet Calendars Not Updating - OWA/Exchange 2010

$

All,

I'm having an odd issue with my Exchange 2010 environment. We are able to subscribe to shared internet calendars from other services via OWA (i.e. ics feeds from Training Peaks, Tripit, etc.). When you first subscribe, you can view everything published to that feed. However, following that, it never updates. Any changes made on those various services are not being reflected when trying to view via OWA, Outlook 2011, iPhone, etc. However, if you remove those calendars and then resubscribe, you get the latest iteration with the same behavior of not updating from then on. I have a suspicion for some reason the Exchange server simply isn't updating for some reason, but I can find no errors in any of my logs, etc. Thoughts?

OWA is not working for one of the CAS Server in WNLB Setup

Hello Gurus,

We have the following setup in our company

Windows 2006 R2 Domain, Exchange 2010 SP1 Setup and WNLB for CAS Array.

2 Mail Box Server ( MB1 & MB2 )

2 Hub Servers ( Hub1 & Hub2 )

2 CAS Servers ( CA1 & CA2 = CAS Array = outloook.company.com = 192.168.100.1 ) { webmail.company.com = 200.200.200.1)

1 Edge Server ( Edge1 )

Recently CA1 Server was crashed and unable to recover then I have made a new server as CA3 added into NLB CAS array.

The problem is once I added into NLB, the webmail.company.com ( OWA ) is not working for ( 50% users ) some users. If I remove the CA3 from NLB ( CAS Array ), webmail.company.com is working fine for ( 100 % users ) everyone.

But OWA is working fine if I use with local or public IP and CA3 host name even if added CA3 into NLB.

The 192.168.100.1 is natted to 200.200.200.1.

Any advises please.

OWA Calendar not showing month view in non-IE browsers

$

I've got a user who can't see the Month view on his OWA calendar. He's the only user complaining - Month view loads fine on my Exchange account across all browsers and operating systems.

I can see the Month view on his account when I log in with IE, but not with any other browser, Windows and Mac.

Any ideas? I'm at a total loss here, I've been in and deleted recurring appointments, but nothing else looks out of the ordinary. Everything else works, it just won't load the month view in non-IE browsers and he's the only one affected.

Any clues appreciated, thank you!

EMS one-liner returns different results on each run

$

I am using this (very ugly) one liner to spit out a list of users that have quarantined ActiveSync devices.  It works OK except for the last part which parses the ActiveSync Device's identity to then pull a get-user and grab the person's Title from Active Directory.  The Title value returns for a random subset of the users, and it's a different subset every time I run it.   Anybody know why that might be happening?

I'm also open to cleaner ways of doing this if anyone has any ideas.  Can't use UserDisplayName from the get-activesyncdevice call because that data is truncated and won't return results at all in a lot of cases if I try to use it to query for the user.

get-activesyncdevice -filter {DeviceAccessState -eq "Quarantined"} | select DeviceType, DeviceModel, @{Name="UserName";Expression={$a=$_.identity.tostring();($a.substring(0,$a.IndexOf("/ExchangeActiveSyncDevices"))).split("/")[-1]}}, @{Name="Title";Expression={$a=$_.identity.tostring();($a.substring(0,$a.IndexOf("/ExchangeActiveSyncDevices"))).split("/")[-1] | get-user | select -expand Title}} | sort username

I have Exchange 2010 RTM installed on a Windows 2008R2 + SP1 Member Server in a domain with all Exchange Server Roles installed, Hub, CA, Mailbox, UM etc.

I was then about to install a Service Pack onto this server (tried SP1 and SP3).

Before attempting to install the SP I added\installed the following to the Windows2008R2 SP1 system:

Windows Server Feature of ‘RPC over HTTP Proxy’
Windows Server IIS components of ‘HTTP Redirection’, ‘Tracing’ and ‘Client Certificate Mapping Authentication’

Microsoft Unified Communications Managed API v2.0
Microsoft Speech Platform Server Runtime v10.0
Microsoft Office 2010 Filter Packs

Also via the EMS set Execution Policy to Unrestricted

Then began the install after a reboot

Each time I get an error message after all pre-reqs are indicated as being met as shown below i.e. unable to remove product with code etc error code 1603

Many thanks for any help in advance

Exchange Server Reverse DNS Record

Dear Experts,

I have exchange server 2010 configured on a public IP. When I run reverse lookup from mx tool it resolves to

mail.mydomain.local

however correct record should be mail.mydomain.com

I tried changing the machine name from mail.mydomain.local to mail.mydomain.com but it stopped working. Is there a way I can rename my machine to mail.mydomain.com and exchange still keeps working and reverse dns resolves to mail.mydomain.com instead of mail.mydomain.local

Please advise.

MSExchangeIS Mailbox Store Event 9877 after installing Exchange 2010 SP3

$

Hi

After installing Exchange 2010 SP3 I have an issue using Search in Outlook Web Access. Before SP3 it works fine. I have seen a lot of post about this issue Pre SP2, but none related to SP3. I did went from no Service Pack at all and directly to SP3..!

Whenever I try to search in OWA I get Error 9877 in the Event Log:

Content Indexing function 'CISearch::EcGetRowsetAndAccessor' received an unusual and unexpected error code from MSSearch.
Mailbox Database: Mailbox Database xxx
Error Code: 0x80043629

I have tried both symbolic link repairs and resetting the index and even that my Mailbox Store's Content index status says it is "Healthy" search via OWA still fails with the following error: "The action couldn't be completed. Please try again".

The weird part is that if I put on a filter like "Send to Me" then Search in OWA works find. Maybe I hit some kind of upper limit, but it happens for all users I have tried with and my own mailbox is below 250 MB and less than 5000 items. The Mailbox Store is about 65 GB.

Anyone have seen anything like this?

Team,

Setup : Exchange 2010

Question: We got approx 1000+ room mailboxes, would like to find what value stored under "bookinpolicy" attribute

Get-CalendarProcessing -id "RoomName" | select bookinpolicy

The agenda is to find out how many room mailboxes have this feature enabled and who/which security or individuals are controlling the access for the conference room.

I also need "Room Mailbox name" along with the value stored under "bookinpoilcy"

i tried :

[PS] C:\Windows\system32>get-mailbox -Resultsize unlimited | where {$_.ResourceType -eq "Room"} | select name | Get-CalendarProcessing | select bookinpolicy | out-file c:\436.txt

Let me know if you have thoughts on this.

Wierd behavior, error #554-5.3.4 Content conversion limit(s) exceeded

Hello

My customer have a local Exchange 2010 SP3 installation.

They use a 3-party line of business application that tries to send an email with an attachment to another internal user.
The applications uses API to open a new mail in Outlook 2010 where the email is ready to send with the recipient, body and attachment.

If the user presses send. They get a NDR right away. But if they remove the recipient address and type it manually again it works.

The NDR says

Ive read up on Content conversion limit(s) and tried setting different limits on my transportconfig, transportserver, receiveconnector, sendconnector etc. Without any luck.

I see that alot of other users that get a similar NDR. Have descriptions that specify more detailed error reasons. Like for example to many attachments or to large header. But mine don't.

So i activated Pipeline tracing and content conversation tracing.
This is my output

It is worth mentioning that the email only has 3 lines of text and the attachment is a 72 KB .tif file. Their is only one recipient. It doesn't matter what the recipient is. As long as he is the recipient from the line of business application.

The total .msg message size is 89 KB in total.

Im completely stuck and appreciate every input.

We are using EXUM 2010 for our voicemail solution.  Is there a way for users to be able to dial in remotely (Home, mobile or another office to access their voicemails)?
