Exchnage 2010 not sending external emails

Hi guys,

I have a windows server 2008 R2 system running active directory, dns, iis and exchange and im having issues sending email to external domains (ie Hotmail yahoo etc) I have set up the send connector with * but it doesn't work. after about a day I get a notice in my mailbox saying:

 

Delivery is delayed to these recipients or groups:

XXXXXX@hotmail.com (XXXXX@hotmail.com)

Subject: test 2

This message hasn't been delivered yet. Delivery will continue to be attempted.

The server will keep trying to deliver this message for the next 1 days, 19 hours and 58 minutes. You'll be notified if the message can't be delivered by that time.

this is a fresh install so im not sure what im doing wrong or what im missing. my website is hosted with go daddy and I created the mx record to my server ip.

Exchange 2010 Database Recovery - Database Mount Failed

Hi.


I have a very big problem with recovering exchange 2010 database. My exchange server and active directory domain controller was installed on the same server which crashed two days ago. I have the disk image for the database files and could successfully CLEAN the state of database using ESEUTIL /r ... command with soft recovery.

I also created the database using NEW-MAILBOXDATABASE -RECOVERY in exchange management shell without any problems. But when I want to mount the new database using MOUNT-DATABASE, I get the following error message:


Couldn't mount the database that you specified. Specified database: officialrecover; Error code: An Active Manager operation failed. Error: The database action failed. Error: Operation failed with message: MapiExceptionCallFailed: Unable to mount database. (hr=0x80004005, ec=1276)
 [Database: OfficialRecover, Server: SERVER3.NBM.com].

not able to mail flow from 2003 to 2010

ok I just can't figure this out and have a dent in my desk now.

I have implemented Exchange 2010 in our organization. We are moving from Exchange 2003. So we are running two servers (Exchange 2003, win server 03 sp2) and Exchange 2010 (win server 2008 r2).

I can SEND mail FROM Exchange 2003 to the outside, other 2003 users, but not to 2010 users.

I can SEND mail FROM Exchange 2010 to he outside, other 2010 users, and 2003 users.

I can receive from outside users to both 2003 and 2010 different Exchange pop3 connector tool.

So why can't Exchange 2003 users send email to 2010?

pl help me to solve the issues.

Things not working ( mobile and OWA )

Hi

We have moved all our mailboxes from Exchange server 2007 to 4 new Exchange 2010 boxes.

Normal outlook mail is working but only OWA and mobile devices are working on the one server which we have pointed to in nat/pat

if i go to any of the other 3 servers and open owa i get

The exchange 2007 OWA login comes up where the server working comes with the Exchange 2010 login page and actually opens where the above message appears on all other 3.

We have a edge server which still was there from the previous servers and have not created an edge subscription for the new ex 2010 boxes.

I am not sure what to do... Please help

Mail forward and Outlook 2010 rules

Hi,

I have configured mail forward in Exchange for a user xxx to his manager, since the user has resigned and all important mails have to be received by his manager.

His manager undoubtedly receives all email messages that are sent to his account in his Inbox, however when i created a rule in Outlook 2010 (manager's outlook client) stating that all email messages from the user xxx should go to the user xxx folder that is created in his manager's outlook client, it wont work.

Quick responses would be highly appreciated?

1 Calendar to combine multiple calendars

I have a department with users and each user has his own calendar.

Is it possible to have a View only (read only) calendar that shows all the calendars of in one view?

We want to have this type of calendar because the group members want to see all the events/meetings of everyone in the group in 1 calendar.

How can we do this? Thank you

Installing SP3 on Exchange - Error

Good day.

I`m trying to install SP 3 on Exchange 2010 SP2 UR6. Prerequsits passed fine, after that i am getting error on Organization Preparation:

" was run: "Active Directory operation failed on dcmain.domain.loc. This error is not retriable. Additional information: Access is denied.

Before this error in log files i am getting:

What i have alredy checked:

1. Organization Management group - Universal Security Group

2. Already checked "Include inheritable permissions from this object`s parent" for account from which i am starting setup.

3. Account is the member of "Enterprise Admins", "Schema admins" and "Organisation Management"

Questions about Exchange 2010 SP2 Site Resilience

Hello, colleagues.

We are planning to deploy a sile resilient Exchange 2010 solution with active\passive design and different namespace like in article recommendations:

At the moment we have following infrastructure:

SplitBrain DNS testdomain.ru

2 Mail relays

2 CAS+HUB Servers in WNLB cluster

4 Mailbox Servers with 2 DAGs (2 Servers in one DAG)

2 ISA Server in an Array.

2 Mail Relays with External IPs and MX records 1.1.1.1 and 2.2.2.2

CAS Array with IP 172.30.2.20

WNLB Internal IP 172.30.2.20

All URLS point internally to mail.testdomain.ru to WNLB VIP 172.30.2.20

All URLs point externally to mail.testdomain.ru to VIP ISA External Address

As I see we must fully mirror the configuration in the failover site.

Only differences is that all databases in DAG in failover datacenter wil be passive with the highest priority.

All URLs will point to WNLB to failover.testdomain.ru

I dont understand some aspects.

Should we make external records in DNS for failover.testdomain.ru that will point to VIP ISA in failover datacenter?

In the article we can see:

"For example, a user normally hosted in the primary datacenter might use https://mail.contoso.com/owa to connect to Outlook Web App. After the datacenter failure, these service endpoints are moved to endpoints in the second datacenter as part of the switchover operation. During the switchover operation, the service endpoints for the primary datacenter are re-targeted at alternate IP addresses for the same services in the second datacenter."

This way in case on failover should we point mail.testdomain.ru records to the same addresses that failover.testdomain.ru?

And why do we need failover records this way?

DAG query

Hi,

We are looking to implement DAG's shortly. We have multiple AD sites, of which only 3 have Exchange servers located at them. All servers are multi-role servers. Users located at a site that doesn't have an Exchange server connect to the server nearest to their location.

UKserver1
UKserver2
USserver1
APserver1

The two UK servers are load balanced using a KEMP load balancer.

What we were hoping to do was add another multi-role Exchange server at a 4th site and replicate the Mailbox DB's on the servers above to this single server. As I understand it a server can only be a member of one DAG so with the setup we wanted to achieve we could only have one DAG group. We would like to control the fail over process manually.

Is this setup achievable? This is probably quite an open ended question, and obviously there are drawbacks to this setup in terms of performance if multiple sites/servers went offline. Should we be looking to implement multiple DAG's to multiple servers at the 4th site instead? 

Any advice/pointers appreciated.

Activesync not working from exchange 2010

I am doing a migration from exchange 2007 to exchange 2010. The new server is running Windows 2008 R2 with Exchange 2010 SP1. The old server is windows 2003 r2 with exchange 2007 sp3.

I have just moved  a couple of mailboxes to 2010. The problem is that everything works except activesync and Outlook Anywhere but the priority is activesync.

The exchange 2007 server had a godaddy certificate which I exported and imported to exchange 2010.

Using the tool at TestExchangeConnectivity.com for active sync , it fails at the last stage. Everything passes but at the end it says foldersync failed with timeout error.

 

what can i do to fix this problem?

Seeding a Database Copy to another Server

I am adding some Database copies to my dag in a seperate site.

I'm not running into any errors when creating the copy, however I'm not seeing the CopyQueueLength drop during the seeding process.

It's a somewhat large database (600+GB)

I've done this in the past for other databases and didn't have any issue.  I Just don't remember if the copyqueuelength drops during the seeding process or not.  (I thought it did)

Just looking for some sort of indicator on progress.

Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010

Hi,

Rather than doing a server migration from SBS 2003 to SBS 2011, I plan to do a clean install. We are only a very small organisation - 15 users or so, so it is quite straightforward to set accounts, transfer data etc manually.

In the main, the only thing that bothers me is copying the mailboxes from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 without going down the route of a migration. Is there a fairly straightforward way of doing this?

I would be grateful for any advice.

How does a SIP device locate the Dial Plan a UM enabled user is on?

When a SIP enabled device, example a Lync server, goes to communicate to a user mailbox to access UM, how does the SIP device match the SIP url of the user to the Dial Plan of the user?  I have looked at examples of SIP packets and it shows the sip url or address of the user.  How is the dial plan object matched to connect the SIP device to the Um mailbox?

The Certificate status could not be determined because the revocation check failed

HI All,

 I was trying to renew the SSL for Exchange and got the above error on my EMC.

 I found proxy is not set and set the proxy. But didn't delete the cache. command certutil -urlcache ocsp deletecertutil -urlcache crl delete .

Now System like this but i cannot login from the out side https://webmail.domain.com/owa

Error Code: 500 Internal Server Error. The target principal name is incorrect. (-2146893022)

Do i have to delete the cache?

Replace Exchange 2010

HI All,

 We are in our OWN Windows Domain/Forest. ( No Trust to HQ) Now HQ is offering the Global Email setup.

and we have to configure our outlook to their domain. 

All our monitoring printers and notification set for our exchange server for mail.( smtp.mydomain.com)

Now HQ ask us toarchive the user data and remove the exchange and use their domain exchange.

So how do i keep this smtp.mydomain.com ?

is there any free SMTP Server i can configured?

Can we configure outlook for their domain\username and exchange server name?

 I have a Internal Exchange 2010 and DMZ got the TMG Server. So If i complete the pending request in Exchange EMC Then export. 

How do i install on DMZ-TMG Box? 

(This certificate was exported with private key – and imported to the TMG server for remote access to Exchange)
