Rename only Exchange 2010 email address policy. Is it possible?

Hello Team,

We would like to change the email address policy of Exch 2010 Servers users(change only email address domain), without changing the Active Directory domain.

Is it possible.?

What all changes required.?

Hi Team

Exchange 2010

Need to stop email from a test server leaving the organisation.

We know we can stop email from users leaving the org with Transport rules but this is not the issue.

We need the server to be able to send email internal so we can not use the enable disable Relay function in the Hub Transport section.

Emails are not delivering from Edge server to EOP

Hello Team,

The application sending the email to another domain via exchange server and the smart host is EOP.

The normal emails are delivering successfully,User1@domainx.com to backupteam@domainy.com mail delivery is successful. 

The application sending the mail using root@joaquin.domainX.com email address to backupteam@domainY.com

But only this email is not delivering. 

Mailbox -> Hub transport -> Edge server (till this there is no issue)

Edge server -> EOP the email delivery is not happening. 

I have whitelisted the IP, joaquin.domainx.com

I am seeing all the emails are in Retry status in Edge server with the below error

The error is "

451 4.4.62 Mail sent to the wrong Office 365 region. ATTR35"




Exchange 2010: endpoint behavior following same-server mailbox move?

One of our customers is experiencing an issue with a specific user mailbox, and support has asked us to create a new mailbox database and move the mailbox to it, to see if that resolves the issue.  That's not a problem, but I'm wondering what the behavior of Outlook and ActiveSync devices is when a mailbox is moved to a new database *on the same server*. 

Will they get the "Your admin made a change, please close and reopen Outlook" message, and interrupted connectivity on mobile devices, or is it completely seamless?  I've mostly done mailbox moves between different databases on different servers, not different databases on the same server, so I'm not sure what the endpoint behavior will be.

Certificates | Exchange | F5 Firewall

We are two teams, I manage Exchange & network team manages the F5 firewall device. I wanted to buy the certificate (third party) for my exchange but before that the F5 Firewall admin prepared a csr & purchased a cert for his device for the same common name & autodiscover. F5 Admin was pretty sure that if i give my cert it will not work in his device.

Now, I was thinking to buy first & then export and give it to F5 Admin. Anyways, Can I Export the certificate from F5 device and Use the certificate for exchange.

If yes, then how do i go about it. Simply import it and assign services because if i prepare csr then the cert will not be valid as it was not obtained using that csr.

If no, then does it means that I have to obtain a new cert. Do all organizations spend twice the money to buy the cert for same names but different devices.

Full Access equipments mailboxes take 1 day to appear

Hello,

I am struggling with "total access" equipment mailbox (vehicules).

I need to import calendar from old gmail calendar, and i am setting up automatic  reservations for these vehicules.
I also need to set 3 people a full access to those equipment mailboxes so they can handle conflicts and also set reservations for people that doesnt have mailbox/computer access.

All is "fine" except this:

After i set Full Access in each vehicule mailbox for those 3 people (and to me for testing purpose) i cant see the mailbox in my outlook.

They finaly appeared 1 day later after i reset the AutoMapping parameter. But it still take 1 full day.

Is there a way to make it appear after some minutes like it should be ?

Here is the technical details:

MS Active Directory 2012R2
MS Exchange 2010 on a 2008R2 server

MS Outlook 2013 clients from MS Office Standar 2013

I tried already:

* remove and re-add fullaccess (and so forcing the Automapping property to true) with powershell console:

remove-mailboxpermission -user my_account_name -AccessRights FullAccess
add-mailboxpermission -user my_account_name -AccessRights FullAccess -Automapping $true

This makes the equipment mailboxes to appear the NEXT day.

* Extending default 12 months offline period for my account  to "ALL" and then disabling my mail box account caching completly (also disabled in advanced options) with restart of outlook in between. It doesnt change a thing.

* I tried to add the equipment mailbox account manually and it is working fine since i have the Full Access enabled.

The issue with this is i then see a separate mailbox account (its not embedded in my account) and anyway this solution is a bit annoying to setup for the people since you need to type the vehicules mails one by one and those vehicules has some serial numbers in the name. So you need to add 20 accpounts named like "vehicule_department_xyzxyz12548".

I dont want to die by hands of my co-worker please :), i cant ask them to do this.

Calendar sharing to external recipients failing.

I have created a sharing policy and added my mailbox to it, however it still fails.

I created the policy per the instructions at https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd351201(v=exchg.141).aspx.  I added the recipient's domain (i.e. externaldomain.com), and added my mailbox to it. I have it set for Calendar sharing with free/busy information plus subject, location, and body. The policy is enabled.

However, if I go to my calendar, go to Share, enter a recipient at externaldomain.com, and click Send, I still get a popup message indicating "Calendar sharing is not available with the following entries because of permission settings on your network" and lists the recipient@externaldomain.com. Is there some other setting somewhere I need to turn on?

Hi All,

We had a software chap come out to install some software on SBS 2011 running exchange 2010. As part of this, he upgraded the SBS to SP1 and saw that he was fiddling in IIS.

A few days later we have found that we are unable to access Exchange Powershell or Management console and are getting the following error.

Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message: The WinRM client cannot process the request. It cannot determine the content type of the HTTP response from the destination computer. The content type is absent or invalid. For more information, see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic. 

I Have looked at https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/2028305/error-message-when-you-try-to-start-exchange-management-shell-ems-or-e but I am unable to find any Kerbauth entry.

Could not with some help if possible please.

Migrate OAB/Schedule+ public folders to O365?

We migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 in roughly 2011. Last year we introduced Exchange 2013 to act as the hybrid server for our migration to Exchange Online. The oldest Outlook client in our organization is Outlook 2010 and we will be staying in the hybrid environment due to our huge reliance on dynamic distribution groups.

We are almost done migrating the user mailboxes, and I am preparing to start on the public folders. When I run the scripts to look for invalid characters, the only names I'm receiving are these names:

Offline Address Book

OAB Version 2

OAB Version 22

Schedule+ Free Busy Information

How do I determine whether I need to migrate these public folders to Exchange Online? If I don't need to move them, what do I do with these resources prior to beginning the public folder migration?

New-MailboxImportRequest creates double identical entry, how to remove?

Hi,

We are in the process of importing al our old pst archives. We just started and we are stuck now.

We did a New-MailboxImportRequest and now there are 2 entries with the same name in the queue, which should not be possible.

Below the results of get-mailboximportrequest and a full report.

removing them is not possible as the name is not unique.

I have tried:

- reboot server.

- upgrade Exchange to sp2 hoping on a bug fix (before Windows 2008R2, Exchange 2010 SP1, update 5). still same problem.

- upgrade to todays updates , still the same problem.

 

How can I get it removed?

 

 

 

Exchange 2010 OWA Users cannot change passwords

Good Afternoon,

We have an Exchange 2010 environment that has been running for the better part of 7 years without any issues related to OWA and changing passwords.  The necessary regedits have been implemented and nothing has changed (except for Windows Updates) since it was set up.  Within the last 30 days our users have been unable to change their passwords when they expire or even before they expire.  They are receiving the error, "The Username or Password is incorrect, please try again".  We are on Exchange 2010 SP3 running on a Windows Server 2008.  

Any ideas what may have happened to the environment to make this start happening?  Any help is much appreciated!

outlook connectivity issue

Hello all,

i'm configuring coexistence environment between exchange 2010 and 2016. Now some users are promoted password and username in their outlook 2010. 

For now, here is my setting:

1Exchange 2010,i configured outlookanywhere via basic auth,and select slow network to connect via http

2Exchange 2016, i configured outlookanywhere via NTLM

3、Users are using outlook 2010 SP3 (after verifed,it's ok)

4、Then i configure outlookproviderFlags to ServerExclusiveConnect (refer https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/exchange/2013/05/23/ambiguous-urls-and-their-effect-on-exchange-2010-to-exchange-2013-migrations/)

  • Set-OutlookProvider EXPR -OutlookProviderFlags:ServerExclusiveConnect
  • Set-OutlookProvider EXCH -OutlookProviderFlags:ServerExclusiveConnect

Now there is my question, if i change 2010 outlookanywhere to NTLM, some clients may automatically connect but most of them may not, fail to connect. 

If i change auth to basic and select fast network, clients will ask for credential after a while

So how could i make my clients connected ? Appreciate any ideas!

Exchange 2010 - Email from IOS with attachments larger than 7.5Mb gets stuck in outbox

We have an on premise Exchange 2010 server. When sending email with large attachments from ActiveSync accounts on IOS devices, the email gets stuck in the outbox and won't send. 

I've narrowed down an attachment size of about 7660870 bytes before the issue starts occurring. For a few bytes over this limit, the email will have a failure message, but will still be sent through without the attachment. If you add a few more bytes on, we get the failure message but no email goes through and it gets stuck in the outbox. These sizes are under our allowed size limits for internal and external mail. Additionally, I'm guessing the behavior of this issue depends on the total size of the message including header, body, etc., not just the attachments.

Has anyone seen this happen before, or have any idea what could be causing this?


Unable to clear move requests in Exchange 2010

We have moved all but about an half dozen of our staff member's mailboxes and those mailboxes that can not be removed showed that "Unable to make connection to the server."   I saw several other posts about making edits in the AD profiles or do Get-MoveRequest | fl Then run the cmdlet: Remove-MoveRequest -MoveRequestQueue “TargetDatabase value” -MailboxGuid “ExchangeGuid value“, however those attempts have been unsuccessful as well.   I know these attempts have failed because the email server that these moves were going to has been corrupted and the Information Store and other services will not stay up.   

We are attempting to remove these requests, because we are trying to move the mailboxes into clean databases that we have in our new email server.  I am lost on other possibilities to clear these requests out of the Exchange 2010 server.   Any thoughts or recommendations are welcome and appreciated.

Script to pull calendar permission of all users in domain

I've been tasked to check the calendar settings for all our users while i can go through them one by one i thought of using this script below to out put to a single file in order to check. But the error i get when i try to run it is that there is an invalid token "in" for the part Foreach ($mailbox in $allmailbox).

Mails are not getting received

Hi,

We use Exchange 2010 Standard. We have one mailbox server and one hubcas server. I am posting here, if this is not the suitable place, please move it to the required forum.

There is no edge server.

Sometimes we have mails stuck in our mail security gateway.

I also get below errors in event logs.

Event 9213

A non-expirable message with the Internal Message ID 15805706 could not be categorized. This message may be a journal report or other system message. The message will remain in the queue until administrative action is taken to resolve the error. Other messages may also have encountered this error. To further diagnose the error, use the Queue Viewer or the Exchange Mail Flow Troubleshooter.

Event 8010

A message with the Internal Message ID 15593265 was rejected by the remote server.  This message will be deferred and retried because it was marked for retry if rejected.  Other messages may also have encountered this error.

We have journaling enabled on databases.

Please let me know how do I find the root cause of this issue.

Exchange 2010 sp3 Rollup 25 breaks "User to change Password at next logon" for OWA

Hi there,

Sorry for putting this in the 2016 forum but the 2010 forum seems to have vanished now.  We are in the process of migrating to 2016.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed that the latest exchange 2010 sp3 rollup (25) seems to have broken functionality related to forcing users to change their password at next logon via outlook web access.

We use this quite extensively and since the latest rollup, it no longer works.  Instead, we simply receive the message that the username or password is incorrect or it just allows us to log in without forcing the reset.

This behavior doesn't exist when we check it against a 2016 environment when I go to one of the 2016 hosts (we are migrating).

This was working fine just before the patch.  No settings have changed (that we have made).

je veux avoir à partir de powershell des statistiques sur le nombre de message envoyé et reçu par le serveur sur l'ensemble du domaine par jour.
